Hainan Wuzhishan (Five Finger Mountain, Hainan Island) The Hainan Island is a province of China. The five-finger mountain is representative of this province. It has not only a beautiful scenery but also most suitable district for tea.having fertile soil and beneficial climate. Low latitude,long sun-shine period,bigger temperature discrepency between day and night are other beneficial factors.The fertile soil is drenched by an average precipitation of 2000-3000 mm and refreshed by continental and oceanic monsoon under an yealy average temperature of 23 to 24C and the humidity of 80% to 90%.The polyphenal content of this tea is 34-38% Tea is reaped in all seasons . The growers employ the method of intercropping tea with gum that offers the best utilization of natural light, heat, soil and water and breeze of air and render both tea and gum being benefited. The gum trees, tall and thick at crowns, give protection to the tea bushes under them from strong sunshine. This, as a result, increses the content os polyphenal and catchol in tea, decreases coarce cellulose,cause tea leaves to become tender and plumpy, improves quality, strength and flavor; and intensifies the color of liquor. The tea may be called the up-and -coming promising article. |
