Plucking tea in a Yunnan tea area

Provinces Yunan,Guizhou,Sichuan,and the southern part of Xizang(Tibet) are included in this district. Here is the oldest district producing tea--black,green, compressed,tuocha and Pu-er and is the principal grounds to procese broad leaf broken black tea.

Yunnan-Guizhou plateau is the center of origin of tea. It has complicated topography.Discrepency in altitude and temperature exists at the places of the same latitude.Chiefly,the temperature is subtropical monsoon climate which is beneficial to the growth of tea trees.The soil is chiefly yellow soil in Sichuan,Guizhou and Southeastern Tibet,with some brown soil among it .Yunnan is chiefly red terracotta and hilly red clay with more contents of organic matters than other districts.
