Anxi Tea Garden of Fujian Province. Tiehkuanying and its liquor color

Minnan Anxi(Anxi county in southwestern Fujian Province) is the original producing area of Tiehkuanying (Iron Bodhisattva). This exotic name was alleged to have been given by a Wei Qin,a teagrower in Anxi. One day,as he went up the mountain path to pluck tea,he discovered sticking out of a crack a tree of strange appearnce. he carefully removed it and transplanted to his own garden. He took great care to keep it. When the tree finally grew big enough to produce tea. the tea tasted superbly in flavor. Wei Yin compared the tea to iron, owing to its weight and thought it looked liked Goddess of Mercy(Bodhisattva).Thus this name was given to this tea.
